Garrett Vortex CSI: the new-generation crime scene detector

The Vortex CSI is Garrett's most advanced crime scene metal detector. It is the current generation of the Countermine and CSI line. It recovers metallic evidence in any terrain, from the dry find spot to shallow water. Fully submersible to five meters.

At its heart is Garrett's multi-frequency technology MD-MF. It evaluates a target and the surrounding ground matrix across several dimensions of conductivity and iron content. The result appears as a two-scale target display on the illuminated screen. One scale stands for non-ferrous, the other for ferrous objects. Added to this are eight sensitivity levels and automatic ground balance.

For forensic work, the detector brings dedicated search modes. The mode for projectiles highlights lead bullets and non-ferrous casings of brass or copper. It masks out common iron scrap. The mode for cartridge casings identifies ferrous and coated casings. Salt-water operation and beach mode keep the target display stable even on wet beaches and in surf zones. The integrated Z-Lynk transmits the sound wirelessly.

The adjustable shaft ranges from around 63 to 144 centimeters. With the six-by-eleven-inch search coil, the device weighs 1,34 kilograms. The internal lithium-ion battery lasts around fifteen hours in typical operation. At DTI, the Vortex CSI adds the current Garrett generation to security detection for public authorities with forensic needs. Consultation, instruction and service come from a single source.

Trace search

In any terrain, even in water.

The Vortex CSI recovers evidence at dry sites and in shallow water, fully submersible to five meters, with saltwater operation for wet beaches and surf.

Technology

Multi-frequency instead of a single frequency.

The MD-MF multi-frequency technology evaluates target and ground matrix across several dimensions of conductivity and iron content.

Display

Two scales at a glance.

The backlit display shows a multi-axis target readout with a separate scale for non-ferrous and ferrous objects.

Endurance

Around fifteen hours per charge.

The internal lithium-ion battery carries you through the shift, and the integrated Z-Lynk transmits the audio wirelessly to the headphones.
