François Zayek founded Astrophysics Inc. in California in 2002. Before that he held senior development roles at PerkinElmer and EG&G Astrophysics, the original namesake. His career of more than 35 years is devoted exclusively to X-ray technology.
Today more than 30,000 Astrophysics scanners are in place in over 150 countries. The focus areas are critical infrastructure, aviation security as well as ports and borders. Development and manufacturing take place in the USA, certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
The company is a pioneer of the industry. It was the first to bring 6-colour imaging, real-time diagnostics and remote diagnostics to the market. Most recently, the Multi-View CT followed as the first 3D CT cargo scanner.
