About DTI

DTI (Detector Trade International) is a sales company for metal detectors and baggage X-ray devices based in Dormagen.

For decades, DTI has been among the leading detector sales companies in Europe. Around the world there are long-standing customer relationships with industrial companies, security firms, banks and public authorities, import and export firms, the military and private individuals.

As a specialist dealer for metal detectors, we represent Garrett Electronics Inc., Dallas/Texas, exclusively in Germany. Garrett is the world's largest manufacturer of metal detectors for people screening, walk-through detectors as well as hand-held detectors, and makes technically mature devices for public authorities, police, industry as well as hobby and leisure. Two Garrett devices have recently received the Red Dot Award for product design, the Paragon (2025) and the Guide (2026). The devices have been in continuous use for years at airports, justice and court buildings, industrial plants, banks and public authorities as well as at events. Garrett has exclusively equipped the last eight Olympic Games and various football World Cups with security detectors.

DTI is also Garrett's exclusive repair service partner in Europe. For our customers that means short distances and a fast, cost-effective repair.

We supply and support customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From Dormagen we organise delivery and, on request, installation, training and ongoing service across the entire DACH region.

Since 2017 we have also represented VMI Security System from Brazil in Germany. VMI builds X-ray devices for mail and case screening in all size classes. In our rental program we carry VMI X-ray devices and Garrett archways.
