X-ray baggage scannerVMI 6040C or 6040.
Two models, one service.
The 6040C is the compact model that folds down to pass through 80-centimetre doors and into lifts, intended for correctional facilities and small foyers. The 6040 offers more tunnel width and belt capacity for industry and large events. Both share the same service package of maintenance, recurring TÜV inspection (Germany's mandatory technical safety certification for X-ray equipment) and insurance, you only choose the hardware.
Compact or standard?
Both devices run a 160 kV generator and resolve wires down to 40 AWG. The choice comes down to the floor space available and the throughput required.
Footprint
Same screening technology, two footprints.
Both scanners screen with a nearly identical tunnel size and a 160 kV generator. The 6040C folds its conveyor and fits through doors from 80 centimetres, while the 6040 runs the longer belt for higher throughput.

VMI 6040C
The most compact model in the series, for prison mail rooms and small foyers.
Our recommendation: Limited installation space, prison mail rooms, pop-up setups, small public authority foyers.
- Tunnel 60.6 × 41.6 cm
- Touchscreen display, ARPiA™ AI optional
- 160 kV (opt. 180 kV), steel up to 44 mm
- Wire resolution 40 AWG (0.0788 mm)
- Folding conveyor, fits through 80 cm doors
- approx. 435 kg (shipping 490 kg)

VMI 6040
The higher-throughput model for industry and large events.
Our recommendation: Higher visitor volume, trade fair and event setups, large companies.
- Tunnel 62.0 × 42.4 cm
- High-resolution color monitor
- 160 kV generator, steel penetration 42 mm
- Wire resolution 40 AWG, conveyor capacity 165 kg
- Drug, explosive and high-density detection
- 495 kg net (shipping 621 kg)
Baggage screening in a continuous flow.
Image quality, material separation and availability, when bags and parcels run across the belt without a break.
Material separation at a glance.
The 160 kV generator and automatic material recognition with colour coding tell organic, inorganic and mixed materials apart. On the 6040C the image quality is up to 35 percent above the previous model.

X-ray screening for bags, parcels and shipments, delivered and handed over ready to run.
Built for continuous operation.
The rugged construction and real-time self-diagnosis keep the checkpoint available. The system reports faults on its own before they hold up operations.
Colour monitor to suit.
The high-resolution colour monitor is configurable in size, and on request two 21-inch monitors work side by side for operator and supervisor.
Safe for people and goods.
The dose rate stays below one microsievert per hour at 0.1 metres, and the scan is film-safe up to ISO 1600.
